10X Genomics is engaged in developing an innovative genomics platforms. The company’s product pipeline comprises Chromium X for single-cell gene expression, Visium for spatial transcriptome, and Xenium for in-situ subcellular profiling.

10X Genomics also permits to study cellular states in scenarios such as embryonal development, cancer, myoblast and lung epithelium differentiation, and lymphocyte fate diversification. It is also ideal to profile interesting subpopulations of cells from a larger heterogeneous population, for example, malignant tumor cells within a tumor mass, or hyper-responsive immune cells within a seemingly homogeneous group. It can even reveal entirely new cell types.

Inside Chromium X:

Single cells, reagents and a single Gel Bead containing barcoded oligonucleotides are encapsulated into nanoliter-sized GEMs (Gel Bead in emulsion) using the GEM code technology.

Lysis and barcoded reverse transcription of polyadenylated mRNA from single cells are performed inside each GEM. High-quality next generation sequencing libraries are finished in single bulk reaction. Finally, 10X special software is utilized for processing, analysis and visualization of single cell gene expression data.

10x Genomics provides robust solutions that let you analyze gene and protein expression, perform comprehensive immune phenotyping, and map regions of open chromatin, all at single cell resolution.

The company also provides Barcode technology which is compatible with Single Cell Gene Expression and Immune Profiling solutions allowing researchers to simultaneously measure multiple analytes, such as protein and RNA, within the same set of cells or tissues.

10X Genomics provides Visium spatial gene expression solution for measuring spatial gene expression patterns across a single tissue sample.

Spatial transcriptomics is a groundbreaking molecular profiling method that allows scientists to measure gene activity in a tissue sample and map where the activity is occurring. Visium Spatial Gene Expression spatially resolves gene expression by mapping the whole transcriptome with morphological context in entire formalin fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) or fresh frozen tissues to discover novel insights into normal development, disease pathology, and clinical translational research.

High-Performance In Situ Gene Expression Mapping

Xenium Analyzer instrument is designed for fully automated high-throughput analysis of cells in their tissue environment. Part of an end-to-end solution that includes pre-designed, validated panels and analysis tools for visualizing and studying spatial patterns of expression, the Xenium Analyzer is next-level in situ. 

Xenium in situ analysis detects and preserves the cellular localization of hundreds of RNA targets directly in a tissue section without the need for conventional sequencing. This provides researchers with a detailed map of gene expression patterns without sacrificing resolution or target number.
